Planting

We provide a service to plant any of the trees that we grow in our nursery, as well as undertaking a wide variety of other landscape planting works. Our horticultural staff have the experience to ensure that your trees will be correctly planted to enable them to establish and thrive in their new location. Our experience includes undertaking projects in private gardens, parks, streets, civic, subdivisions, commercial developments, institutions and schools. We also have experience in undertaking New Zealand native re-vegetation plantings.

Aquaflow Porous Paving

We are the sole NZ distributor for Porous Paving Solutions, an Australian company that has developed Aquaflow Porous Paving, a resin based paving surface. Aquaflow Porous Paving provides a highly permeable surface, which is both stable and environmentally friendly.

Aquaflow Porous Paving is laid in-situ utlilising resin to strongly bond pebble in such a way that the paving contains almost 50% voids thus allowing rain and stormwater to effortlessly drain. It is particularly suitable for adjacent trees in urban streetscapes or public spaces, especially areas of high pedestrian count.

Utilising Aquaflow Porous Paving allows for the free movement of air and water to tree roots which is essential for tree health, unlike conventional paving which does not allow this important process to take place.

Our staff have been trained to lay Aquaflow Porous Paving so as to achieve a high quality finish that provides:

  • Rapid installation
  • Less litter accumulation
  • Seamless integration with surrounding pavement (reducing trip hazards)
  • Wheelchair friendly
  • UV stable
  • Highly permeable

Transplanting

Our range of tree transplanting equipment enables us to transplant semi-mature and mature trees and palms from 0.5 - 100 tonnes and larger. Our techniques have been developed so as to minimise stress to the transplanted tree thus ensuring a higher success rate. We have developed a broad base of experience with transplanting many species of New Zealand native trees and we are recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading authorities on tree transplanting.

Aftercare Maintenance

To help our recently transplanted or planted trees or plants to establish themselves more readily, we offer an aftercare maintenance option.
This covers items such as watering, fertilising, topping-up mulch, adjusting stakes, formative pruning, deadwooding and regular checks on plant health. We strongly advise this additional service option where clients do not have the time or experience to undertake these tasks themselves.
